Seventh: It is even possible for a woman to ovulate during her period.</p>
<p>Now when you&#8217;re trying to conceive, you must consider these simple dos and don&#8217;ts. Do have sex regularly, have sex once a day near the time of ovulation, make healthy lifestyle choices, take your vitamins, and consider preconception planning. On the other hand, don&#8217;t smoke, drink alcohol, and take medication without consulting your health care provider.</p>
<p>Trying to conceive a baby may require some effort and timing. And once a woman has conceived, she is in for a world of change.</p>

<p>Getting pregnant is really a numbers game and in any one month, all things being equal you only have a 25%-30% chance of conceiving. <b>That means you have a 75%-70% chance of NOT conceiving talking about the odds not being in your favour!</b> </p>
<p>To compound issues that number drops off significantly if you are over 30. The wise thing to do is to start taking active steps to tilt the chances of conceiving in your favour and some of the things you can do right away include:</p>
<p><b>1. Lying down for at least 30 min after intercourse</b> to give the sperm a boost in the right direction. Getting up too soon to rush to the bathroom means the sperm have to work harder to swim against gravity to get to their destination.</p>
<p>Want to give them an even further boost? Then put a pillow underneath your bottom and let gravity propel them faster to their destination.</p>
<p><b>2. Making your virginal environment more conducive for those little swimmers. </b>This means you need to stop using any form of lubrication and that would include store bought lubricants like KY Jelly, petroleum jelly and the lot.</p>
<p>Your main goal is to make the vagina, which tends to be acidic in nature more alkaline. This is because sperm thrives better and survives longer in an alkaline environment as compared to an acidic one.</p>

<p>There are many methods you can use to predict your ovulation date but the 3 most popular ones are the cervical fluid method, which is also the most reliable. The other two are using your basal body temperature and using ovulation kits.</p>
<p>As a very general rule of the thumb, to calculate your ovulation day simply subtract 14 from the length of your menstrual cycle. So for example if you have a 25 day menstrual cycle you are likely to ovulate on (25-14=11) day 11.</p>

<p>Swimming is one of the best and safest exercises to do while you are pregnant.  Your joints and back will thank you.  You will feel better about yourself, and the baby will love it too.  And, it gives you an excuse to go shopping (online of course, because who needs the malls when you are tired) to buy a perfect maternity swimsuit to complement your new beautiful body.  </p>
<p>Walking is great for when you are pregnant.  It is very safe for you and the baby, and you can do it anytime.  If you make a schedule when you walk, keep it even after the baby is born, so that you can keep active then too.  If you haven&#8217;t exercised before, always check with your doctor and start slow and then gradually build it up. Make sure you have good comfortable shoes and comfy clothes!  </p>
<p>Biking is a fabulous way of exercising.  You sit on a bike, which supports all of your weight and so there is little to no stress on your joints.  If you are afraid of falling, try a stationary bike.  Remember, as your belly grows, your balance might be a little off, so be extra careful when you are biking then.</p>
<p>Yoga:  There are specially designed classes for expecting ladies and you can probably look them up at your local gym, or even a community center.  Yoga especially has a great reputation for relieving stress all over your body and also takes the pressure off of a lot of your muscles, especially your back.  Yoga is safe for you and your baby, but don&#8217;t be to vigorous with the exercises.  There is a lot of selection of maternity Yoga clothes out there, you just have to know where to shop.</p>
<p>A lot of women enjoy Pilates, especially the classes, because it is a great way to stretch and get in shape, as well as meet new people and build a support network.  You should not lie on your back too much though, or over stretch.  Always speak to your doctor if this is something new for you.</p>
<p>Now, as far as the other more higher cardiovascular (heart rate) exercises like running and aerobics, it is okay to do those if you have already been very active before you were pregnant.  Always let your doctor know that you are still active in that area so he/she can keep an eye on you and the health of your baby. </p>
<p>When attending your gym, (if you have done often before you were expecting) please be careful about your heart rate, because it is dangerous for the baby if your heart rate is too high.  If you have a question about anything, always ask.  That&#8217;s what your care provider is there for. </p>
<p>There are, unfortunately, certain exercises that us pregnant ladies should avoid.  Skiing is one of them because if you fall, you could seriously hurt yourself and the baby.  But, if you are pregnant in the summer, you don&#8217;t have to worry about that right?  But then again, water skiing is also not recommended because it can cause serious abdominal trauma. So, just stay away from any kind of skiing and we will all be safe.  Horseback riding is also another no no.  Pretty much, just stay away from the exercises that have to high a risk of falling and you should be okay.</p>
<p>Here are some things to remember when you do exercise:</p>
<p>1.  A great bra that gives you support is a good start.  </p>
<p>2.  Wear comfortable clothes.</p>
<p>3.  Wear supportive, comfortable, non slip shoes.  These are your only feet.</p>
<p>4.  Drink lots of water to keep you hydrated.</p>
<p>5.  Remember to breathe!</p>
<p>6.  Don&#8217;t get your heart rate to high, you don&#8217;t want to over exert yourself or have the baby&#8217;s heart rate to high.</p>
<p>7.  Make sure you stretch!  Don&#8217;t stretch lying down on your back.  Do this standing or sitting.  It is not recommended by doctors to do ab exercises lying down either, so check with your care provider please.</p>
<p>8.  If you think something is wrong (you are dizzy, you have cramping, bleeding, shortness of breath, or anything like that) stop what you are doing right away.  If you are unsure what is wrong, please contact your doctor. </p>
<p>Always remember to be careful, but enjoy your exercising, and enjoy being pregnant.  Time passes by way to fast.</p>

<p>A woman should always have a maternity swimsuit in her maternal wardrobe, whether you are pregnant in the winter or summer, because you never know when you might have a chance to get in the water and have fun.</p>
<p>Maternity swimsuits provide much relief during the summer especially for pregnant women who wish to cool off in the waters of a local swimming pool.  Most women are conscious of their growing curves, so these particular swimsuits are designed to flatter any pregnant woman&#8217;s body. </p>
<p>Look for support in 3 key areas - your bust, hips and tummy. For bust support, if you are smaller, you may be able to pull off a halter style, which tend to be very flattering.  If you are graciously endowed, you should tend to lean towards the wider strap tanks and empire waist, which adds more support.  Try to find adjustable straps so you can increase the length as you need it. When it comes to showing off your beautiful belly, you decide what works for you.  Make sure that your suit is not to tight and has enough room for you to grow.  Your hips will expand during pregnancy, so try to find a suit with lycra, or adjustable sides.</p>
<p>As far as swimwear goes when you are pregnant, you do need to purchase a proper maternity swimsuit.  Who wants to wear an unflattering huge regular swimsuit when you can get one that actually fits and compliments your new curves?  So here&#8217;s what&#8217;s out there for us.</p>
<p>The One Piece: the one piece is usually the easiest, it&#8217;s made of material that stretches as your belly grows, and it lasts your whole pregnancy.  It is very conservative and usually comes in a variety of different colors.</p>
<p>The Tankini is a great maternity swimsuit, its for those women that don&#8217;t like the one piece, but still want the full coverage.  You get the bikini bottom (or shorts if you like) and a designer &#8220;tank&#8221; top, and you can mix and match them if you have a few pairs.  Its even easy to use the bathroom with this particular type of swimsuit.</p>
<p>The Bikini: for those who like to bare their bellies, give them a tan, the bikini is a popular way to giving you freedom to have your bump out and about on the beach or by the pool.  It will draw attention to your new growing cleavage with a supportive built in bra, while showing off your bump and legs as well. </p>
<p>If you want something that has both a bikini and a tankini, go for the Pregkini.  It has a wrap that clips onto the bikini top and provides coverage to your growing tummy.</p>
<p>Cover ups are anther thing that you might consider buying.  They are essential for when you need to take a break from the sun rays, or if you are walking around and need some privacy and comfort.  Most maternity stores have them, and they quite often match a particular swimsuit.  If you want something more like a wrap, then purchase a Sarong.  You don&#8217;t have to purchase that in a maternity store though, they usually come in one size fits all.  </p>
<p>Remember, the care of your swimsuit is essential.  This will help it last longer.  All you need to do is rinse it when you get out of the water and then wash it gently (by hand) with just a mild detergent and then let it air dry.</p>
